Projects and folders

The Projects screen is the entry point for your workspace. A folder groups projects without changing their content or synchronization.

Free accounts can have up to three cloud-synced projects and any number of local projects in the current browser profile. Paid plans do not limit cloud projects. When returning to Free with more than three cloud projects, choose up to three active ones. The rest become read-only and remain exportable; nothing is deleted. Local projects never use a cloud slot.

Use Local projects to create or import .plotic or .fdx files without signing in. They are stored only in this browser profile. Export .plotic backups regularly: clearing browser data can erase them. Local projects have no collaboration, cloud backups, or cross-device sync. With an account, Copy to cloud creates a new synced project, subject to your cloud limit. In a cloud project's editor, Save local copy creates a separate local project. Neither operation removes the original or keeps the two copies in sync.

Browse projects

The list can show All projects, one folder, or Unfiled for projects you have not organized yet.

Choose a project to open it in the editor. The Plotic link in the top bar takes you back to the landing page.

Inside the editor, the Plotic icon in the top-left corner returns to Projects.

Create a folder

  1. Choose New folder.
  2. Enter its name.
  3. Choose Create folder.

Rename or delete a folder

Use the pencil icon to rename a folder and the trash icon to delete it.

Deleting a folder does not delete its projects. Those projects move to Unfiled and remain available.

Move, rename or delete a project

Open the project's actions menu and choose Move to…. Select a folder or Remove from folder.

The pencil renames the project from the Projects screen. The trash icon asks for confirmation before deleting it. Project deletion cannot be undone from the interface.

Share a project

The chain icon opens the collaboration dialog. Invite an existing account and review who has accepted or remains pending. Invited people receive the notice inside Plotic and, when the server has email configured, in their inbox as well.

Older projects appear in Unfiled. They do not need to be recreated.

Next: Working offline.
